Administrative Assistant *Continuous/Pipeline Posting* Various Depts

Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking qualified individuals to serve in Administrative Assistant roles to join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.

*Continuous/Pipeline Posting. This is a pipeline/evergreen posting to assist in expedited hiring needs for administrative assistants to various SIMCO departments.

Clearly indicate on your application if you are not interested in administrative positions at the WIPP Site and/or Skeen-Whitlock Building as specific work locations will vary between these two locations.

The successful candidates will perform routine administrative duties including, but not limited to, providing customer service, assisting in the development and publishing of departmental material/documents, proofing and developing internal and external presentations, making travel arrangements, ordering supplies, scheduling meetings, processing expense authorizations and reimbursements, and all other duties as assigned. The position requires ability to interact professionally with multiple levels of management and employees. Must exercise good judgement, discretion, and professionalism in all matters.

Non-Exempt Grade Level(s) (24-26)

Minimum Requirements: These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.

  • Associate's degree with two (2) years of administrative experience, or
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency with four (4) years of administrative experience is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in a customer service-centered role is highly desired.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business or other related field is preferred.

Minimum salary $52,255 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
