Location: Carlsbad, NM

Be part of the nation's only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a System Engineer - Ventilation to join our team to support our Government customer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently in the process of constructing a new nuclear grade ventilation system for the underground that more than triples the current air filtration capacity. All airflow is routed through an array of HEPA filters prior to being exhausted to atmosphere. Your primary responsibility will be supporting the success of this project as a system engineer with the intent to become the subject matter expert on the system. The successful candidate will develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications, assist in writing Statements of Work, manage system configuration, perform system walk downs and engineering calculations such as shear/moments diagrams and friction loss in ducts.
