Records Analyst II

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a Records Analyst II to join our team to support our government customer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Reporting to WIPP’s Records Program Manager, supporting implementation of federal, Department of Energy (DOE), state and WIPP’s Records Management Organization’s (WRMO) requirements regarding the creation, receipt, approval, processing, distribution, use, configuration control, storage, retrieval, retention, and disposition of electronic and hard copy sensitive, but unclassified documents and records. This position will manage the incoming and outgoing communication documents and records for all WIPP departments and organizational Managers in the active stage of their lifecycle. Upload documents into the Electronic Documents and Records Management System (EDRMS) and establish electronic relationships in support of configuration control. Participates in and/or leads efforts associated with WRMO tools migrations, enhancements, or implementation of electronic records management program.

Has wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and WIPP objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Develop resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Work is accomplished without considerable direction. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment, and determines the methods and procedures needed for new assignments.

Job Duties

  • Safety and security are a primary responsibility for all WIPP employees. Maintains required safety and security training, assures safety and security compliance, and makes safety and security an integral part of every task, including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.
  • Perform records, mail, and receiving area services in support of WRMO and specified CBFO Active Records and Mail Service responsibilities will be performed in accordance with Federal laws and other specifications outlined in WRMO requirements.
  • Managing the procedure lifecycle process.
  • Maintaining and making available project planning and execution documentation.
  • Processing programmatic documents and records
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable requirements and standards
  • Providing guidance and recommendations to customer organizations on procedures and processes
  • Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Resolving issues or challenges associated with managing information in sensitive and unclassified environment.
  • Fosters a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Records Management regulations and drivers and methods to ensure compliance
  • Ability to develop positive customer relationships and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Interfaces with WRMO management, CBFO Records management, co-workers, and other staff members for the purpose of solving Records Management issues. May include consultation with management personnel internal and external to the organization.

Role expectations-

  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Wide range of computer skills to include implementation of requirements or enhancements for Records Management-related applications.
  • Ability to solve issues or problems based on experience, professional concepts, and organizational objectives.
  • Ability to deliver clear and concise communications to employees, managers of all levels.
  • Knowledge using Documentum and other Records Management tools.
  • Work in a configuration management environment.
  • Work in records management required to satisfy DOE regulatory, legal, and contractual requirements, RCRA and NMED requirements/activities directing program team to furnish complete historical records of project operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of document control work processes with CCP project and generator site Team.
  • Support of all CCP Document Control/Records Management (DC/RM) Program activities and personnel.

Non-Exempt Salary Grade (24-28)

  • Bachelor’s degree, or
  • Associate’s degree with two (2) years of professional experience, or
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency with four (4) years of professional experience is required.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • WIPP or DOE related experience

Starting salary $52,255 per year *

*Base salary will be dependent upon candidate's background (i.e. education and experience)
