Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a System Engineer and join our team to support our government customer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
The successful candidate will qualify as Technical Staff for WIPP systems as assigned by the Engineering Manager. Provide real-time support to plant modifications to ensure accuracy to design drawings and other Technical Baseline documents. Perform as-built field verifications of selected structures, systems, components, and drawings that depict the actual plant conditions. Become the technical expert in their respective structures, systems, and components, and develop Engineering Change Notices. Become the system expert and maintain system specifications, configuration management, and design documents to ensure compliance with WIPP Documented Safety Analysis and site procedures as appropriate. Candidate will be required to complete training for unescorted and underground access. Must be able to complete Technical Staff qualification in a timely manner upon assigned system responsibilities. This position requires the ability to perform field work in varied conditions, including indoors and outdoors, surface, and underground.
Exempt Salary Grade (28-31)

Preferred Requirements:
Minimum base salary $66,098 per year *
*Base salary will be dependent upon candidate's background (i.e. education and experience).
